SALT LAKE CITY — All foods have calories, and obviously some foods are healthier than others. However, it may surprise you just how many calories some foods contain. A new video was released to demonstrate the portion sizes of different foods that were only 200 calories.
The video, produced by ASAP Science, demonstrates just how chock-full of calories some foods are. For instance, for 200 calories, you can only eat a quarter of a Big Mac from McDonald's, but you can eat an entire plate of apples.
I recently started counting calories myself, and I began to realize that my little PopTart that I thought was such a low-calorie breakfast is not at all. I would be better off eating three slices of toast and a dozen grapes ‐ which would also actually make me full.

The video also helps explain exactly what a calorie is and how our body uses calories as energy — which is helpful for those of us who never paid attention in science class.
