SALT LAKE CITY -- Just one night after coach Jerry Sloan agreed to a 1-year contract extension for next season, covering what will be his 24th year with the Jazz, he, Kevin O'Connor, and Jazz coaches met immediately after the team's 91-86 loss to the Chicago Bulls Wednesday night.
Sloan normally meets with the media 8-10 minutes after the game to give his comments, but did not come out for 45 minutes following the loss. Once out of the locker room, he spoke to reporters for five minutes, took two questions on the locker room meeting and said only that the Jazz would update the media with any pertinent information Thursday.
"I don't think there's any great need for panic," Sloan said. "We're not looking to trade anybody. We're looking to make our team hopefully better on the floor."
The Jazz cancelled Thursday's practice following the press conference.
The Jazz began the season 15-5, but have since drawn a 31-23 record, including three consecutive losses at home.
