DATELINE (AP) -- A Utah judge got a death threat from a writer adding his comments to a Web site that shows the judge berating a pair of deer hunters in the courtroom.

District Judge Leslie Lewis demanded to know of one man whether killing an animal was acceptable, and whether he was starving or needed meat. That hunter was fined for helping transport a poached deer.

But the judge also lashed out at the hunter's innocent brother, who was thrown into a holding pen for 20 minutes.

It happened last February, but the court video made its way to You-tube-dot-com as Third District Judge Leslie Lewis seeks re-election on November 7th.

Lewis received the death threat from an anonymous poster, who asked whether she needed killing and was seeking her address.

Sheriff's deputies say they're acting to protect the judge.
