OREM — For the second year in a row, many local and national bands and solo artists will entertain Utahns at a music festival.
The Timpanogos Music Festival will take place Aug. 27 at 12 p.m. at the Brent Brown Ballpark in Orem. Event organizer Tyler Monks estimated that between 2,500 and 3,000 people attended last year’s event.
"For the past 6 months, we have been organizing Timpanogos 2016. We had a great experience last year working with 35+ of the most talented local bands and solo artists in Utah,” Monks said in a statement. “This year, we are raising the bar and offering music fans a hybrid of national and local music. The lineup will include 20+ bands and solo artists on 3 stages.”

Local artists can still send in submissions at timpanogosfestival.com. The submission form will be posted next week.

Ticket prices range from $10.19 to $100. $100 tickets include access to the ALT 101.9 VIP lounge, a T-shirt, food and drink and VIP parking. Visit Smith’s Tix to purchase tickets.
"This change to a hybrid mix of local and national talent will create sustainability and growth potential for the festival,” Monks said. “We've curated an epic mix of artists and we think the festival lineup will really resonate with the local music community. It's something we want to continue for many years and these changes will provide us with that opportunity."
At the event, Mad Dog Cycles will offer bike valet and tune-ups free of charge. There will also be food trucks and tribal face painting.
