THE GREAT OUTDOORS — This weekly column highlights user-submitted photos and video of Utahns exploring our beautiful state. Watch for it each Thursday to get ideas for your next outdoors adventure.

While there are many outdoor winter activities that can be enjoyed in Utah during the colder months, it is always exciting when the first hints of spring come, and we can begin to look forward to warm summer nights.

Many residents are taking advantage of the warmer temperatures and have been doing family hikes to beautiful waterfalls and look-out points. Others sent in photos while enjoying some of Utah’s natural hot springs and rappelling in sunny St. George.

Whatever your passion, make sure you make the time to get outdoors and enjoy what Utah has to offer. If you are wanting to start a new hobby and don’t want to buy expensive gear and equipment, hiking is an easy option. Look for our Hike of the Week each Monday morning to get inspiration.

Whether you are into mountain biking, riding ATVs, boating, snowboarding, hiking or hunting, Utah can accommodate your outdoors needs — and we'd love to see photos of you in action.

Send pictures or video of your recent outdoor activities in Utah's backcountry to fjolley@ksl.com. We'd love to highlight your adventures.
