SALT LAKE CITY — The following are some of the top plays of the college football weekend.
Utah State's Kent Myers found Hunter Sharp on a 42-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 10-10. Myers ran all over the Rams, finishing with almost 200 yards rushing in the Aggies' big Homecoming victory over Colorado State.
BYU's Tanner Mangum threw Mitch Mathews a jump ball in the back of the end zone for a 21-yard touchdown. The catch gave BYU a 10-point lead and put the game out of UConn's reach.
After one quarter of football the TCU Horned Frogs led the Texas Longhorns 30-0. One of those scores came on a sensational grab by TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson, who jumped over a Texas defender to make an unbelievable catch.
Geronimo Allison's 1-yard game-winning touchdown catch left the Nebraska Cornhuskers stunned for the the third time this season. With less than 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter Illinois quarterback Wes Lunt found a sprawled out Allison on the near-side pile for the game-winning catch.
Kalen Ballage rumbled 23 yards for a touchdown, capping a 38-23 upset over the seventh-ranked UCLA Bruins. With just over one minute remaining and an eight-point lead, the touchdown run ended any chances of a Bruin comeback.
After nearly blowing a big fourth-quarter lead, the Clemson defense stopped Notre Dame's 2-point conversion to upset the Irish 24-22.
