EPHRAIM — It's been 40 years since the 1975 Snow College football team took the field for the first time, but even after four decades, the team has much to celebrate.

The team is coming back to Ephraim next weekend to celebrate this milestone, and the college is looking forward to welcoming them home.

"I'm so proud of that hardworking, dedicated group of young men that took on that challenge… and I thought it was about time we let them know that we have not forgotten what they did," former head coach Dave Arslanian said in a release. "Snow College has not forgotten!"

The challenge to which he referred was the 1975 season, which got off to a rough start. The Badgers lost their first six games, and the season appeared all but lost until they took on the University of Utah and walked away victorious, winning 21-7.

That win proved to be the spark the team needed — they went undefeated for the rest of the season. The winning streak stuck through the next few years, as the team was eventually ranked 4th in the country, earned a bowl game invitation and was crowned champion of the Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference three times.

"We are excited to have these successful athletes return to campus and be part of Homecoming," said Snow's athletic director Rob Nielson. "We hope they enjoy their time here, adding to the spirit of Snow College."

The returning athletes will get to participate in the Homecoming Parade, tailgate before the game and enjoy a barbecue with current students and fellow alumni. The team will be honored at a special halftime ceremony during the Homecoming game.
