MURRAY — Police have made two more arrests in connection with the killing of a popular employee at Lee Mart convenience store, including the alleged shooter.

Investigators announced Thursday that Juan Andres Zalazar, 23, of Taylorsville, had been under surveillance by detectives and was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday as he arrived at a relative's house in South Salt Lake. Murray police detective Kenny Bass said Zalazar, who was identified by the other two suspects as the shooter, was arrested without incident.

In addition, Murray police developed leads that took them to West Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend where they arrested 19-year-old Martin Castillo on Saturday, Bass said. Police say Castillo was outside the Lee Mart during the robbery and shooting. It was unclear Thursday whether Castillo was acting as a lookout or if he was a getaway driver, Bass said.

Police planned to extradite him back to Utah.

The two arrests follow the arrest last week of Alexis Alan Garcia, 20. He and Zalazar are accused of going into the Lee Mart convenience store, 5909 S. 700 West, early on the morning of March 18 and robbing longtime worker David Marsh, 62, at gunpoint.

Surveillance video shows the men were dressed in black hoodies and wore red bandanas over their faces.

After the duo took an undisclosed amount of money, Marsh is seen on the video throwing the empty register tray at one of the robbers as they ran out the door. One of the men reacted by turning and firing a .22 handgun, hitting the popular store worker. Marsh died five days later.

Zalazar was charged April 10 in Taylorsville Justice Court with a domestic violence-related assault, a class B misdemeanor, according to court records. He pleaded no contest to a similar charge of assault in 2010, and was found guilty of DUI in 2008.

Castillo was charged in Salt Lake City Justice Court on April 12 with possession of drug paraphernalia. In January of 2014 he took a plea in abeyance to criminal mischief in what was originally charged as a domestic violence case, according to court records. But a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this month for failing to comply with the conditions of his probation.

In October of 2013, a protective order was filed against Castillo by another person.
