SPANISH FORK — A Spanish Fork man was identified Sunday as the victim in a fatal motorcycle collision near Utah Lake on Saturday.
Eric Spencer Hansen, 31, was riding his dirt bike to Sandy Beach, a popular off-roading area at Utah Lake, when he attempted to pass along the right side of a pickup truck Saturday afternoon. The truck began to turn right and collided with Hansen.
Hansen was thrown from his motorcycle and slammed into a tree, according to police. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries.
A friend who had been riding with Hansen performed CPR until a Utah County sheriff's deputy arrived. Hansen was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center where he later died.
