DEER CREEK STATE PARK — The remaining three events of the Wasatch Back Quad-fishalon have been canceled due to warm weather and lack of ice.
The first event of the annual ice fishing tournament took place at East Canyon on Saturday. The events at Deer Creek on Feb. 7, Rockport on Feb. 14 and Jordanelle on Feb. 21 were cancelled Monday by Utah State Park officials.
Officials said participants who registered for the entire event, or the individual events that were cancelled, will receive a refund of 75 percent of the entry fee.
Deer Creek, Jordanelle and Rockport State Parks will honor any tagged fish caught from now until April. The original prizes of ice fishing gear and outdoor accessories will still be awarded.
All anglers must have a valid Utah fishing license.
The annual Burbot Bash was also recently canceled due to warm weather and unsafe ice conditions. Any ice fishing anglers should use extreme caution and follow these guidelines before venturing onto the ice.
