SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified the driver who was killed in a crash in Parleys Canyon on Monday night.

Ronald Murrock, 56, from Bellevue, Washington, was driving westbound on I-80 in Parleys Canyon when his Acura lost control and slammed into an SUV on the right side of the road.

Two cars had slid off the road and a woman pulled over and parked her SUV to help. Police said the Acura narrowly missed the woman.

Murrock died upon impact, police said. No one else was injured in the accident. Police warn drivers not to stop if they see an accident.

“If you do see someone on the side of the road, call 911 and do not stop,” UHP Sgt. Chamberlin Neff said Tuesday. “Do not get out of your car like this woman did.”
