KETCHIKAN, Alaska — A group of anglers in Alaska caught more than fish when capturing amazing footage of a sea lion being tossed in the air by a killer whale.
Brian Ringeisen posted the video to the Angler Adventures – Ketchikan Alaska YouTube channel on Aug. 15 and wrote about the experience on the company website. He said the anglers had taken a fishing boat out near Ketchikan that morning and a sea lion had continued hiding under their boat. The group then saw an orca stalking the animal in the water.
The Angler Adventures group decided to leave the area, and as it was pulling away in the boat, two passengers caught video of the killer whale launching the sea lion into the air. The video has since been viewed over 1 million times.
