PARK CITY — A new expert-only biking trail has opened, the Canyons Resort announced Friday.

The GoPro Double Down trail is located at the trail hub of Insurgent and Ricochet within the Canyons Bike Park, according to a news release. The new expert-only mountain biking trail descends almost 500 vertical feet and has 14 dirt and wood features. The new Bike Park jump trail offers several drops and big jumps.

“Canyons Bike Park crew and volunteers have worked hard this summer to build this incredible trail,” said Canyons Bike Park manager Steve Duke in a news release. “Adding GoPro Double Down to the already extensive trail network that we offer here at Canyons boosts expert terrain options and adds more elements for those seeking a challenge.”

Mountain bikers must have a Bike Park season pass or a day pass to access the GoPro Double Down trail.

The Canyons Bike Park is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. After Labor Day weekend, the Bike Park and new trail will be only be open Thursday through Sunday. It closes for winter Oct. 5.
