SALT LAKE CITY — A man accused of throwing rocks at the glass doors of businesses to enter and rob them has been charged.
Michael Sheldon White, 30, of Salt Lake City, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with four counts of burglary and three counts of theft, all third-degree felonies, as well as four counts of criminal mischief, all misdemeanors.
From April 18 to April 23, White is accused of throwing rocks at the front glass doors of Wasatch Commercial, Rawbean, AT&T, and Broadway Deli, breaking the doors and then stealing various items, including an iPad, headphones and a cash register tablet, according to court documents.
Surveillance video from the deli burglary was released late last week, and a relative of White's saw it and contacted police, the charges stated. White was arrested later the same day.
In 2013, White was convicted of stealing a TV from the College of Law building at the University of Utah.
White was being held Sunday in the Salt Lake County Jail on $50,000 bail.
