SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested Tuesday after police say he knocked out his girlfriend and held her hostage.
Kacey Higham, 32, was arrested for investigation of aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping. Police said Higham and his 27-year-old live-in girlfriend got into an argument at their house, 2200 S. Green St. (640 East).
Higham punched the woman in the head, knocking her out for about 20 minutes, police said. She awoke to find her hands tied up with a TV cord.
The woman quickly freed herself. Investigators said she ran to a neighbor's house and called police. Higham was arrested without further incident.
Higham was convicted of attempted drug distribution in 2012. A warrant was issued for his arrest in September for failing to comply with the terms of his probation in that case, according to court records.
In 2011, Higham was convicted of domestic violence for shoving his girlfriend into a wall and attempting to hit her father with a metal sculpture, according to court records. He was also previously convicted of domestic violence in Midvale Justice Court.
