CLEARFIELD — Police released photographs in an effort to find a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman after giving her a ride in his vehicle.
According to Clearfield police, a woman claimed she missed her bus and was waiting at a bus stop in Layton Oct. 12 when a motorist pulled up and asked her if she needed a ride.
Police said the 39-year-old woman reluctantly got into the car because the next bus wasn't scheduled to arrive for another hour. She told police the man first drove to a convenience store and then to the back parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.
The woman claimed the driver made sexual advances at her, and when she tried to get out he assaulted her.
The victim finally escaped but received several injuries. She was taken to a hospital and later released.
