HURRICANE, Utah (AP) - A swimmer has drowned at Sand Hollow State Park in southern Utah.
Park manager Laura Melling says a 27-year-old man was swimming in the reservoir near Hurricane on Thursday afternoon when he began to experience problems.
A group of boaters tried to revive the man after they found him unconscious. He was rushed to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, where he died.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
Melling says the man was swimming to rocks in the reservoir at the time, and it's deceptive how far out in the reservoir the rocks are.
In September 2010, a 19-year-old Dixie State College student drowned at the reservoir after he swam about 200 yards from shore and disappeared under the water.
