TREMONTON, Box Elder County — A 16-year-old girl who was thrown from a pickup truck on I-15 last week has died from her injuries.

Amanda Brown, of Brigham City, was traveling with two friends on southbound I-15 near the junction with I-84 on June 28 when the driver of the truck drifted and overcorrected, causing the truck to leave the road and roll down an embankment onto I-84, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Brown and another passenger, Tyler Jason Stuart, 16, were ejected from the vehicle onto the inside lane of I-84. Stuart was killed instantly, and Brown was eventually transported to University of Utah Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries Friday.

The driver of the truck, an 18-year-old man, was also transported to Intermountain Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition and expected to recover, UHP Lt. Steve Winward said.
