SALT LAKE CITY — A new report shows a big portion of Salt Lake City drivers are unsafe behind the wheel.
According to Allstate Insurance Company, Salt Lake City ranks 72nd out of 200 on the list of best drivers. It's not a good ranking, but how accurate is the study?
We decided to do our own research, and who better to ask than a man who drives for a living?

Shawky Taha has been a taxi cab driver for 20 years, and he's seen it all.
Taha said he saw one accident where "somebody hit (a vehicle) from the back, and the cops who came, he told them, 'I didn't see him.' The cops said, 'Huh? You didn't see him? He was in front of you!"
But that's not all.
"(Utah drivers) don't use signals, left to right, left side; people (are) talking on the phone, people (are) texting on the phone," Taha said.
The Utah Department of Transportation says the top reasons for accidents are distracted, impaired and drowsy drivers. Within the past year, the state has seen 123 fatal accidents.
Despite negative statistics and low ranking, Utah drivers have actually improved since last year's Allstate study. Last year we were ranked No. 98.
