SALT LAKE CITY — Senior defensive tackle Trevor Reilly and sophomore punter Tom Hackett were named to the All-Pac-12 Conference first team Monday. Senior defensive lineman Tenny Palepoi was named to the second team.

With the loss of Star Lotulelei to the NFL last season, Reilly stepped it up and was the biggest playmaker for the Utes. Reilly led Utah's defense with 100 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries, and was in the top five in the Pac-12 in all those categories.

Reilly made it difficult for opposing offenses and was a major factor in Utah leading the nation in sacks. Reilly caught an interception late in the game Saturday to secure Utah's win over the Colorado Buffalo.

Hackett was a bright spot on special teams for the Utes, averaging 43.4 yards a punt, which put him as the conference leader. Hackett placed 11 punts inside the 10-yard line and 27 punts inside the 20-yard line. He also set a school record for the most punt yards in a season with 3,300.

Palepoi, too, was a force on defense, keeping teams from running the ball effectively up the middle. Palepoi had 53 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks this season.

Earning honorable mentions were junior receiver Dres Anderson, senior center Vyncent Jones, senior cornerback Keith McGill, freshman kicker Andy Phillips and sophomore linebacker Jason Whittingham.

The Pac-12 named Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey as offensive player of the year, Arizona State linebacker Will Sutton as defensive player of the year and Arizona State head coach Todd Graham as coach of the year.
