LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 25-year-old Nevada prison inmate was sentenced to three to 10 more years in prison after pleading guilty to a Las Vegas Strip sex trafficking charge.

State Attorney General Adam Laxalt says Mario Lamont Jones II was also ordered Thursday to register as a sex offender.

Jones pleaded guilty May 29 to luring a woman into prostitution in March 2014.

Defense attorney Martin Hart says Clark County District Court Judge Eric Johnson dismissed kidnapping, living from the earnings of a prostitute and child abuse charges in a plea agreement that avoided trial.

Jones could have faced up to life in prison on the kidnapping and sex trafficking charges.

He's also serving prison time for his convictions in another case on assault with a weapon and shooting from a vehicle charges.
