CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A man is facing charges after police found roughly 50 marijuana plants growing in his Carson City home.

KOLO-TV in Reno reports (http://bit.ly/1NEejlt ) that the 61-year-old man is facing charges of possession of marijuana over an ounce, maintaining a drug house and possession for sales.

The Carson City Sheriff's investigators say there was hash oil and dried marijuana in the man's apartment too.

Police searched the home after receiving warnings from nearby residents, who first tried to tell the building's managers.

Sheriff Kenny Furlong says the man returned home while investigators were still there.

Furlong says the man, who police are not identifying, had an expired medical marijuana card.

According to a police report, the hash oil and faulty wiring in the apartment could have led to a fire.
