CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A Kanawha County schools official says a George Washington High School math teacher who is charged with a gun violation has been suspended.

Media outlets report 38-year-old Jennifer Lee Napier was suspended without pay from her teaching position a few weeks ago.

According to a federal grand jury indictment last month. Napier is accused of illegally buying a gun for a felon from a shop in Marmet.

Her trial is scheduled for June 9 in federal court in Charleston.

Napier's attorney, Tim Koontz, declined comment to The Charleston Gazette (http://bit.ly/1cpqlC7) on the case.
