COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Police say a driver had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit when he struck and killed a 21-year-old woman near the University of Maryland campus.
Prince George's County police say 33-year-old Jacky Luangraj of Manassas, Virginia, faces 13 charges related to the fatal collision early Sunday morning, including negligent homicide by automobile while under the influence.
Police say the victim, 21-year-old Janelle Oni of Randallstown, was crossing Baltimore Avenue near the College Park Shopping Center around 3 a.m. Sunday when she was struck by a minivan driven by Lurangraj. She died at the scene.
Police say Luangraj fled after the crash, but officers pulled him over shortly thereafter and arrested him.
No attorney for Luangraj is listed in online court records.
