GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — A Weld County judge has ruled that the High Plains Library District's board of trustees can keep their seats for at least another two weeks until a hearing can be held on a request for an injunction.
Judge Julie Hoskins also ruled Thursday that the board of trustees has the right to take legal action.
According to the Greeley Tribune (http://bit.ly/1mduWJX), Weld County commissioners, Fort Lupton, the Fort Lupton Re-8 School District Board of Education, Eaton, Hudson and Ault have passed resolutions seeking to appoint new trustees to the seven-member board. They complain they don't have enough representation on the board, which controls branch libraries.
Opponents say the potential new board members don't have enough experience to run libraries.
