DETROIT (AP) — More than 100 students affiliated with a Detroit nonprofit agency will receive vouchers for school uniforms from a department store retailer.

Philadelphia-based Forman Mills says it's donating $15 clothing vouchers on Thursday to about 100 pre-selected students who are involved in the Neighborhood Service Organization. The nonprofit human services agency runs programs including YouthLink, Life Choices Youth Program and Youth Initiatives Project.

The retailer will also give vouchers to the first 50 students ages 18 and under who perform a dance or a cheer at its Warren and Conner store. It says a parent or guardian must accompany each child.

The nonprofit's president and CEO says it sends a positive message to families that area business are invested in children's success.
