SPRINGVILLE -- A body was found up Hobble Creek Canyon. Now investigators are looking for answers. The body was discovered Sunday afternoon in Utah County.

Deputies are now working to figure out the identity of a woman, who is believed to be between 25 and 35 years old. Authorities are treating the case as a crime.

The Utah County Sheriff's Office received a call at about 4:10 Sunday afternoon from a woman who was snowshoeing in the Jolley's Ranch area, which is a popular recreation spot. The woman told police she had stumbled upon the body.

Sgt. Spencer Cannon said, "Our deputies and detectives responded to the scene. As they began the investigation, it was immediately apparent that the circumstances in the finding of the body were suspicious. It is a female. We have not identified who it is yet. The condition and circumstances in which the body was found lead us to believe this was not an accidental death."

The sheriff's office says it expects to be able to identify the woman soon, based on evidence found at the scene. Sgt. Cannon told KSL the woman had hearing aids in both ears and is likely from the area. He also said the body appears to have been there for several days.

Deputies say they are fairly certain the woman is not Susan Powell.
