SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Police at the University of Utah are searching for anyone who knew a former professor from China who died after she fell out of a moving shuttle bus on campus.
Investigators have tried unsuccessfully to locate family or friends of 63-year-old Zhilong Xie since the accident on Thursday.
On Tuesday, university officials released her name and photo, urging the public to come forward with information.
Police say they believe she was originally from Harban, China, but became a naturalized U.S. citizen and has lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Utah and possibly Missouri. Her last known address was on the 100 South block of 1300 East.
She last worked at the University of Utah in 2000 as an associate research professor in engineering and geoscience.
It's unclear why she was on campus last week.
She fell out of the shuttle's side rear doors as it turned a corner and died later from her injuries.
