Post your "Funniest Joke" on KSLclips and Win a Trip to see the Last Comic Standing FinaleUtah has a new reason to laugh on Thursday nights; a West Jordan comedian is one of 12 finalists on Last Comic Standing.

Marcus has hundreds of voices and one big shot at fame on NBC's Last Comic Standing. He said, "One day you're trying to get comedy clubs to pay any kind of attention, and the next day you have agents from L.A. calling wanting to put you on TV shows and movies."

Marcus got his start at local comedy club Wiseguys after a friend suggested he give standup a try. "I did five minutes and haven't left the stage since," he says.

The crowd loved him and his original bits, his jokes about old movies and new airport security rules, and his impressions of people he's carefully studied. He practices their mannerisms in the mirror.

When you do walk on, you can't just do the voice, you have to do the movement, the eyes, things that he does. So when you do it, it's real," Marcus said.

His hard work and hours on the road driving from show to show seem to finally be paying off. He says, "I'm most proud of the fact that I never gave up." And that, he says, is nothing to laugh at.

Tonight Marcus made the final 12. It will be whittled down to the final five with the winner announced Aug. 7.
