(KSL News) A soccer kickoff celebration in Salt Lake City today included a star from a different sport.
Utah resident Dale Murphy made his fame as a major league baseball player, but he was at the Real Salt Lake luncheon today representing Real's new charitable partner, Operation Kids.
"We represent the best charities out there in all areas of children's needs: safety, health, education. And then we support them. So, people know that when they give to Operation Kids, they are really helping the best charities out there that we can identify," Murphy said.
Real Salt Lake is getting ready to start its fourth season here in Utah. The season opener is this Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium against the Chicago Fire.
