SANDY -- A water main burst underground at 9400 S. 1300 E. around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Reports said water was "gushing" through sewer holes and cracks in the road. The water caused a large bulge in the concrete in the middle of the intersection, which then collapsed into a sinkhole.
