Tom Callan, KSL Newsradio For Utah residents who aren't happy with their property taxes, it's now too late to appeal.
At least 1,600 appeals were filed, and most property owners say their assessments doubled.
But, for one Utah resident the assessment soared 250 percent in one year. "No, they really can't answer that. I've been to the assessor's office five different times," he said.
He says he found at least eight mistakes in the paperwork sent to him by the county. "I think they've really made some serious mistakes. I'm embarrassed for them, frankly," he added.
For example, he says he has three and a half bathrooms, not four claimed by the assessor. He thinks the county drove by and forgot to check out the details.
However, residents who disagree with county assessor's valuation of their property have run out of time to file an appeal. The deadline was 5 p.m. today.
