SALT LAKE CITY -- A new Dan Jones poll for KSL and the Desert News shows candidates current standings in four Salt Lake County races.
The poll asked people who they would vote for in the race for Salt Lake County sheriff, district attorney, county clerk and for the "at large" county council seat. Some of the races aren't close, but at least one could be a dead heat.
Salt Lake County District Attorney

Think of it as Groundhog Day for Salt Lake County District Attorney Lohra Miller and her challenger, Salt Lake City chief prosecutor Sim Gill. The two had an incredibly close race for the same seat in 2006, and this time around could be the same.
Forty-one percent of those polled say if the election were today, they'd vote for Sim Gill; 36 percent selected Miller. With a margin of error of 4.8 percent, the race could be closer.

"The game is on, and we're here to play, and we're here to win, and we're not going to give up one little bit of hard work," Gill said Friday.
"We're hitting our stride," Miller said. "We have a lot of momentum going into these last two weeks, and I'm excited to see how it ends."
The race has been one of the more public -- both candidates are running an office while running for office. They strongly disagree on how the past four years have been handled.

"He's (Gill) put a lot of information out there that's based on headlines and old stories," Miller said.
"This is about competence, experience, knowledge and trust," Gill said. "It's about trying to fix something in the district attorney's office that is broken."
The next closest race is for the at large county council seat, with Republican Richard Snelgrove leading Democrat Holly Mullen 44 percent to 35 percent.
County Sheriff Jim Winder holds a strong lead in his race for re-election: 16 percent over his opponent Beau Babka.

Finally, incumbent Sherrie Swensen is ahead in the race for county clerk. She's garnered 62 percent support compared to Jeremy Votaw's 26 percent.
Of those surveyed, 86 percent said they're interested in the election. Nearly half ranked their interest as high.
