(KSL News) A police officer's son who was seriously injured in a motorcycle wreck last month got a hero's parade in St. George today.
Nearly 300 motorcyclists escorted 15-year-old Casey Orr through town, hoping to raise money to help pay for his medical bills.
Orr was flown by medical helicopter to Salt Lake City last month after his motorcycle flipped and landed on top of him. Matt Orr, his father, is a leader in their community, and the community wants to help the family out.
Alan Blackburn/ General Manager, Zion Harley Davidson: "Anytime a gentleman that has that much respect has a tragedy in his life, the bike community is going to jump behind him."
Jack Rankin/ Southern Utah Harley Owners Group: "He's taught literally hundreds of people in the community how to ride, and this is our way of recognizing his efforts."
Alan Blackburn: "Everyone here is here to share their money and their love to fill his heart back up."
Casey Orr is in a rehabilitation center in Sandy. All of the donations received today will go to the Orr family.
