DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — NBA D-League teammates Kalin Lucas and Jarnell Stokes were ejected after a skirmish broke out behind their bench.
The incident occurred late in the third quarter of a game Tuesday between Iowa, an affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Rio Grande Vipers.
A broadcast of the game showed pushing and shoving behind the Iowa bench during a timeout. The 6-foot-1 Lucas and the 6-foot-9 Stokes were both ejected before play resumed.
Lucas, a former star at Michigan State, played one game this season for the Grizzlies. Stokes, a rookie out of Tennessee, has split time between Iowa and Memphis.
The Energy says it is working with the NBADL to investigate the incident.
