PROVO — Provo is among the top eight finalists in a battle to be named America's Best Place to Live.

Outside magazine has turned to its readers to nominate the best town in America for 2014. The winner will be chosen through a series of voting rounds. The competition is set up with a bracket like the ones used in March Madness. Voters can choose one town per round.

Provo continued through the first three rounds beating out Jackson, Wyoming; Taos, New Mexico; and Missoula, Montana. Provo faced off with Anchorage, Alaska, in the fourth round as one of the top eight finalists. Each round lasts five days and the voting for the fourth round ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

To promote the campaign, Provo Mayor John Curtis is giving away tickets to the Stadium of Fire. To enter to win the tickets, a person needs to vote for Provo on voteprovo.com, take a selfie with a sign that says "voteprovo.com" and then share it on social media. Tag the picture with #VoteProvo and #ProvoRocks and tell why Provo is the best town in America.

Several Utahns have shown their support for Provo by posting pictures including Curtis, Neon Trees, BYU President Kevin J Worthen, and Gov. Gary Herbert. KSL's Doug Wright also joined the fun by taking a picture Monday, urging Utahns to vote for Provo.

The contest will run until June 15 where the town with the most votes will be crowned the winner.
