She shared her story with anonymousthankyous.com. Share your story here.

This is what she said:

“My husband and I decided to go up to East Canyon Dam and spend a couple days playing in the water for the weekend. We were young and carefree so we thought it would be fun to take some blankets and just sleep out under the stars.

“As darkness approached that first night, a freak thunderstorm came with it. Sleeping under the stars was no longer an option, but with the severity of the storm, neither was driving down the canyon to get home. We huddled in our car (which was very small) to have what shelter we could. And it was decided we would spend the night that way, or at least wait out the storm.

“About an hour into the storm a stranger knocked on our car window. He told us that his wife would probably not let him back in their camper if he didn’t have us with him. We decided to go with him to sit in their camper for a bit and try to get warm. After we were inside the camper, we realized that this wonderful couple along with their teenage daughter had made a nice warm dinner and had made the decision that we would not be spending the night in our car in the storm.

“They fed us and insisted we sleep in their camper with them that night. In fact, their daughter slept on the floor so that we could have her bed. In the morning, they insisted that we eat breakfast with them also.

“As we left their camper, I had the woman write down her name and address so we could let them know when the baby was born, and I wanted to send them a thank you card. I was hoping to stay in touch with them, they were a great family.

"I sent them a thank you card a week or so later but it came back to us as if they never existed. All these years later, the address has been lost and I have long forgotten their names, but I will never forget them and their kindness. I will forever be grateful for our storm angels.”
