SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah, along with the Pac-12 conference, released its 2017 football schedule Wednesday, though start times and television coverage will be announced at a later date.

Utah will play seven games this season at Rice-Eccles and only five games on the road. The Utes also never play consecutive road games at any point in the season.

Along with new offensive coordinator Troy Taylor and new running backs coach Kiel McDonald, the Utes will look to showcase their new offense as they host North Dakota of the Big Sky on Thursday, August 31 to open the 2017 season. North Dakota is in the same conference as Weber State and finished 9-3 in 2016.

The following week Utah will play rival BYU in Provo on September 9 before closing out its non-conference slate at home against San Jose State on September 16.

Utah loses Oregon State and Cal this year in the Pac-12 schedule rotation, picking up games against Stanford and Washington State.

Utah kicks off conference play Friday, September 22 at Arizona, after which is Utah's lone bye week of the season.

The remainder of Utah's 2017 schedule: vs. Stanford, at USC, vs. Arizona State, at Oregon, vs. UCLA, vs. Washington State, at Washington and vs. Colorado.

Four of Utah's 2017 opponents finished with 10 or more wins in 2016.
