SALT LAKE CITY — Some of Utah’s biggest attractions are facing off in our bracket challenge and picking favorites is getting harder.
With KSL.com readers’ help, we officially have our Elite Eight: Zion National Park, Temple Square, Arches National Park, Lagoon, Bryce Canyon National Park, Monument Valley, Glen Canyon/Lake Powell and Goblin Valley State Park.
After its run as an underdog, Anasazi State Park finally bowed out of the running. In the first two rounds of our challenge the small state park defeated opponents that draw many more visitors each year, including Alta Ski Area and the Utah State Capitol. It went out with a fight in the Sweet 16, losing to Lagoon by a mere 449 votes.
Below are some interesting numbers from the Sweet Sixteen:
- Closest vote: Lagoon (3,477) vs. Anasazi State Park (3,028)
- Most decisive win: Glen Canyon/Lake Powell (4,076) vs. Escalante Petrified Forest (1,084)
