SALT LAKE CITY — Though the priesthood session of the Oct. 2013 general conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be broadcast live for the first time, the church is encouraging priesthood holders to attend the session in their local chapel, where distances permit.
In a statement to general authorities, area seventies, and stake, mission, and district presidents, the church clarified that the new broadcast arrangements won't change the traditional arrangement of priesthood holders meeting in a ward or stake building to watch the broadcast.
"The Saturday evening broadcast at meetinghouses represents an important tradition and is an especially uplifting experience for young men who hold the Aaronic Priesthood."
The priesthood session is scheduled for October 5 at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time, will be available live on lds.org, mormonchannel.org, BYU TV, and BYU TV International. The priesthood session will also be broadcast as usual on the Church satellite system.
