SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities are searching for a suspect who shot a man to death at a Salt Lake City car wash.
Police say the shooting occurred Friday night as 33-year-old Christian Guiterrez-Marquez was cleaning his car.
According to detectives, the suspect approached the victim and they got into an altercation.
That is when the suspect opened fire, hitting Guiterrez-Marquez in the torso.
The suspect then fled in the victim's car.
Guiterrez-Marquez was taken to a hospital where he died a few hours later.
Det. Cody Lougy says officers found the car on fire nearby around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Lougy believes Guiterrez-Marquez, who was married with an 8-year-old child, was a random victim.
According to surveillance video, the suspect has an average build and was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
