Make your peppermint patties homemade!

It's the flavor of the season. Nothing says winter and the holidays quite like the cool taste of peppermint, and these peppermint patties make it irresistible! Chef Jeff from Smith's shared the recipe.

Christmas Peppermint Patties

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 c. powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1/3 c. heavy cream
  • 2 tsp. peppermint extract
  • ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 12 oz. bag white chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  • A few candy canes, crushed

METHOD

  1. Line 2 sheet pans with parchment paper. Add the powdered sugar, softened butter, heavy cream, peppermint extract, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to beat a couple of minutes until a smooth dough forms. 2. Use a tbsp. to portion out about 30 balls. Flatten the balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets. Place the sheets into the fridge to cool and harden the patties. 3. Add the white chocolate and oil to a small bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir and microwave another 30 seconds. Stir and microwave another 10-15 seconds. At this point the chocolate should be melted and smooth. 4. Dip the patties into the chocolate and use a fork to carefully flip to coat both sides. Allow the excess chocolate to drain off. Place them on the sheet pan and sprinkle with the crushed candy cane before the chocolate sets. Cool in the fridge. Share with family and friends. Merry Christmas!
