This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

As a consummate foodie, I'm always interested in trying new restaurants. I especially enjoy it when the restaurant has a new variety of ethnic cuisine for me to sample. My latest find is The Bridge Café and Grill, which has American food with a Brazilian flair.

Emerson Cruz, Alex Bartolo and Fabio Ferreira were all friends from Brazil. After coming to the United States eight years ago, they talked about going into business together. Each had a valuable background he could bring to the partnership: Fabio graduated in hotel and tourism; Alex is a chef who worked and studied in Italy; and Emerson graduated in computers so he could provide the number crunching. By combining their skills, Emerson, Alex and Fabio decided to start their own restaurant. The result was The Bridge Café and Grill in Park City.

The Bridge Café and Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The breakfast buffet boasts items such as scrambled eggs, Belgian waffles, assorted cereals with milk and Irish oatmeal. Lunch is a mix of American and Brazilian cuisine and features burgers and sandwiches. One of the most popular is the Brazuca's Sandwich, which includes tender grilled steak, fried egg, ham, melted Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato on a hoagie roll with aioli to spice it up. Seafood is the dinner specialty.

The Bridge has experienced great success since it first opened last November. With all the tourists in Park City visiting the ski resorts and the restaurant's prime location at the base of a ski run, Emerson said business is thriving. Summertime might be when the restaurant experiences some of the effects from the tough economy.

Despite this, Emerson feels the restaurant's unique cuisine, reasonable prices and quality service will help it survive. He hopes it can become a destination for local residents and tourists alike.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
