SALT LAKE CITY — Christmas break might be over, but the fun doesn't have to be! Get the kids moving, playing and laughing this winter. Melisa Osmond shared four family fun spots to visit that will add energy and joy to these colder months.
Rad Tag Laser Tag, Pleasant Grove
Some laser tag facilities can feel run down and not very clean. Osmond recommended Rad Tag Laser Tag in Pleasant Grove. "Mom approved, because the bathrooms, the entire area, so clean, so nice," she said. "If I'm gonna sit there watching the kids play and have fun, I wanna be in a wonderful place." She said the experience felt elevated and immersive. The facility has multiple levels, trained staff and a structured setup that keeps kids engaged. "They take you and get you all suited up… It's so professional," Osmond said. "These 12-year-old boys, boy, did they love it. They said it was the best laser tag they've ever been."
The Virtual Dugout, Lehi
This new entertainment option blends technology with sports. Osmond visited The Virtual Dugout, a baseball simulator that recently opened. "It's not your ordinary batting cages," she said. "You feel like you are actually a baseball player playing baseball on a team." There are large screens, customizable game settings and real‑time feedback. Even beginners can have a good time. "I can proudly sit here and say I hit a baseball," Osmond said.
Rounds Putt Lounge, Salt Lake City
For something playful and flexible, Osmond suggested Rounds Putt Lounge in Salt Lake City. "It's mini golf, but so much more fun," she said. The arcade‑style scoring and interactive challenges make this mini golf experience even more fun, and players can move through the course at their own pace. "Everyone has three putts. You wanna get 100 points each time," Osmond explained. "Everyone is computerized, so you don't have to keep score ... they do it for you."
Hayati Hair Spa, South Jordan
There's always room for a self-care day. Osmond recommended Hayati Hair Spa, which offers a Dubai‑inspired experience designed for relaxation. "They wash your hair … plus a shoulder and neck massage," she said. "It was so relaxing."
