Odyssey's Spring Repertory Season offers the perfect opportunity for a romantic Valentine's Day gift. Buy tickets now for either "Romeo+Juliet" or "Chicago Nights" and take advantage of special buy-one-get-one discounts for the spring concert series.

"Shut Up and Dance" is where the dancers and choreographers get to stretch their artistic muscles and really show off their abilities and different styles in smaller repertory-style works.

Odyssey founder and Artistic Director Derryl Yeager said, "We again stress accessibility but we are not afraid to explore more innovative choreographic styles of movement. The title says it all. Dance is an amazing form of expression that doesn't require manuals and textbooks to understand. It communicates to all and across all boundaries."

This year's program will include the following:

'Romeo+Juliet'

April 7 from 9 – 7:30 p.m. and April 11 – 2 p.m.

From the creator of "Thriller" comes one of Odyssey Dance Theatre's favorite and critically acclaimed full-length pieces of all time. It is based on the Shakespearean tale about star-crossed lovers, but in the Odyssey tradition: a hip-hop/latin/contemporary dance version.

The show is choreographed by former Odyssey Principal Eldon Johnson, along with sections by Ashleigh and Ryan Di Lello from "So You Think You Can Dance," Yeager and others. This is a unique and powerful tour de force.

'Chicago Nights'

April 8 and 10 from 11 – 7:30 p.m.

This full-length work, directed and produced by Yeager, tells the story of Chicago in the 1920s, when the specter of Prohibition gave rise to speakeasies, jazz and gangsters. "Chicago Nights" is a unique show with an intoxicating variety of dance styles, techniques, passions and emotions.

A collection of works by some of the most cutting-edge choreographers of the day, from ballet to contemporary, jazz to tap, ballroom to hip-hop, this amazing group of dancers will display not only their technical expertise and amazing versatility, but they will share these amazing stories of 1920s Chicago through the tapestry of dance styles that Odyssey is known for.

Odyssey has produced original, innovative works and, to date, has created over 60 original works, including seven full-length productions.

Winner of Best of State in Dance for 19 years, Odyssey Dance Theatre performs to critical acclaim and standing ovations at home and on tour, nationally and internationally, and represents Utah on the world's stage.
