In a city known for bright lights and high energy, finding calm at home matters more than ever. Influencer Reneze Lopez (@sincerelyreneze) understood that when she set out to style her Las Vegas apartment — a sun-soaked, modern space just blocks from the Strip.

But instead of competing with the city's buzz, she leaned into contrast. "My goal was to create a personal retreat," she says. "A space that feels like a staycation every time I walk through the door."

She wanted every detail to feel effortless, but with purpose.

Her finished space is warm, layered and intentional. It blends texture, function and comfort in a way that feels luxurious without being overdone.

Start with the sofa

Reneze chose a low-profile, cloud-like sectional that anchors the living room without overwhelming it. The curved edges and plush fabric keep things soft and relaxed, helping the space feel open but cozy.

Prefer a lighter look? A leggier sofa can also help a small space feel larger, letting light flow through and allowing the room to breathe.

Let texture do the talking

Keeping the color palette neutral was a deliberate choice. "The space itself has a modern foundation, so I brought in pieces with texture, character, and natural materials to soften the look," Reneze says. The soft boucle chair, tonal pillows, and cozy throw work together to add warmth and dimension — without adding visual clutter.

The coffee table is the real showstopper here: a natural wood piece with sculptural detailing that draws the eye in and instantly grounds the space. It adds depth but leaves plenty of negative space around it to keep the room feeling open.

Choose smart storage

Closed storage is key in smaller spaces, especially when trying to maintain a calm, uncluttered feel. Reneze's media console is a perfect example. Behind those natural wood panels is room for books, remotes, tech and whatever else you'd rather not have on display.

Paired with a frame TV that doubles as digital art, the space instantly feels elevated and multifunctional. It's entertainment when you need it — and visual harmony when you don't.

Round out the dining area

In the dining nook, Reneze picked a round table to soften the angles of the room and make better use of the space. It's a small change that makes a big difference. Round tables allow for smoother traffic flow and more flexibility in how the space is used, whether for dinner or drinks, working or winding down.

Layered with soft rounded chairs and a light rug, the area feels like an intentional extension of the living room — not a separate zone competing for attention.

Less is more

"I embraced a 'less is more' approach," Reneze says. "Letting the furniture make the statement." And it shows. Each piece serves a clear purpose. There's no excess, but there's also nothing missing.

From the consistent tones to the thoughtful details, the entire home reads like a retreat. It's the kind of place that invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and stay a while.

Want to bring that retreat feeling home?

You don't need a huge home — or a huge budget — to create a space that feels calm, curated, and totally you. Start with a few anchor pieces that combine comfort and style. Then layer in texture, tuck clutter out of sight, and let each item have its moment.

As Reneze puts it: "I wanted the space to feel like a getaway within my own walls… somewhere that turns the everyday into something that feels effortlessly like a retreat."

And judging by the results? Mission accomplished.
