Just in time for the start of the 2023-24 academic year, residents in southwestern Salt Lake County have a new college option. Salt Lake Community College officially opens the doors of its new Herriman Campus Aug. 4 with a public open house scheduled from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The open house is available to all and will include tours, food trucks, live entertainment, a movie screening, and information about applying and registering for college.
Known officially as the Juniper Building at Herriman Campus, this beautiful facility is located at 14551 S. Sentinel Ridge Road and is part of a unique and dynamic partnership between SLCC and the University of Utah. Students can earn an SLCC associate's degree during their first two years of college and then go on to the University of Utah to pursue an undergraduate degree, all at one location.
"This campus will play an important role in making higher education accessible to those who call this area home," said SLCC President Deneece G. Huftalin. "We also hope this campus will be embraced by local residents and serve as a place for communitywide learning and engagement."
