Most people love a good hero story. Whether it's a Marvel superhero or a doctor who saves the injured patient, there's just something about a person who swoops in to save the day.

If you look around (in real life), you'll notice there are hundreds of heroes in the Utah community. It could be the teen who raises money for her ill classmate, or the man who volunteers all of his free time to mentoring struggling youth.

Awardco, a Utah-based company, wants to recognize those community members who give back—big or small. Each month, Awardco is presenting a Goodness Grant of $1,000 to an individual making a positive impact on his or her community.

Goodness Grants are also open to all age groups. In fact, Awardco would love to recognize youths who are doing good in their community. With school starting up, the grant can make a significant impact on young people who are in school, working and still finding the time to give back.

The Goodness Grant comes with absolutely no strings attached – in fact, Awardco doesn't track grants after awarding them – so winners can use the money to further their cause, cover general expenses, build a nest egg or just enjoy themselves.

The Goodness Grant project is Awardco's way of living up to their values as a company by recognizing the good all around them. It's a way to pay their success and joy forward – and maybe encourage some much-needed unity in the process.

With a monthly reward on the table, you can help Awardco in its quest to recognize goodness in the community. If you know someone who deserves a Goodness Grant, simply nominate them through Awardco's easy online submission form.

Anyone can be nominated, regardless of how or why they're helping out. The company simply looks for those selflessly giving of their time and effort to make life a little easier or brighter for those around them.

Each month, Awardco reviews online submissions for validity, then a committee within the organization selects one winner. One of the award recipients was Kasey Walkenhurst, the head coach of Farmington High's boys' basketball team. Kasey not only coaches the teens, but also organizes games for students with disabilities in Davis County.

Most recently, Brittany Atkinson was awarded a Goodness Grant for her work helping the state's homeless by preparing thousands of sack lunches through St. Vincent's soup kitchen.

With so much division in the world, it's important to recognize those who are contributing to the greater good – and that's exactly what you're doing when submitting a nomination for Awardco's Goodness Grant.
