They say life imitates art, but this month, art is life at the Utah Arts Festival June 23-26 at Library Square in downtown Salt Lake City. For four days, artistry (in all its forms) takes center stage – literally and figuratively.
Featuring more than 170 artists and more than 200 performances on six stages, there's something for everyone – and their inner artist – to enjoy in Library Square. The four-day event is jam-packed with performances, exhibits and creative sessions. You can view the comprehensive schedule at Utah Arts Festival online.
Here's a glimpse of what you can expect.
Film festival
Take a step into another world with the festival's series of independent films. The 2022 Fear No Film Festival comprises 12 programs, including Documentary Short Program, Animated Programs, Narrative Programs, KIDS Short Program, Midnight Programs and Utah Made Program. Films reflect artistry from Utah as well as 23 countries around the world. The film festival starts each day at noon in the auditorium of the Salt Lake City Library and does not require additional tickets.

Concerts
From renowned favorites to fresh rising stars, these performances are sure to make you get up and dance (which is highly encouraged!). From The Fixx to Judith Hill, Diggin Dirt, Mars Highway and many more, your toughest assignment will be choosing which of the festival's six stages to hit next! Check out the entire music schedule and make some harmonious plans.
Workshops
From making your own origami paper cranes to creating graphic novels to enhancing your creative wellness, there's a Utah Arts Festival workshop for every member of the family (the kids can get in on this too). Choose from niche topics like memoir or food writing or connect with kindred spirits by participating in a poetry open mic. For the kids, check out a pop-up book workshop to channel their inner author and illustrator.

Artist Marketplace/Exhibition
Giving patrons a unique chance to view the artistry and talent of Utah's youngest rising stars. The 2021/2022 Utah All-State High School Art Show Traveling Exhibition features inspired artwork from around the state.
Of course you'll also want to carve out some time for the Artist Marketplace, which features more than 170 artists throughout Utah – and the world – in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, fiber, drawing and pastel, digital art, jewelry, photography, painting, glass, sculpture, wood and much more.
The experience
The Utah Arts Festival experience is just that—an experience. With a variety of food vendors, activities for kids and more, you'll want to stay awhile. Tickets are available on the Utah Arts Festival website and are $13 per day for an adult when purchased online ($15 at the site) or $45 for a four-day pass. Seniors are $8 each and kids 12 and under are free.
New this year, the UTA is allowing patrons to show their Utah Arts Festival tickets as free fare. Your festival ticket is your UTA fare for dates stated on the ticket with unlimited access to FrontRunner, TRAX, bus and UTA on demand.
