ST. GEORGE — Those receiving calls from someone claiming to represent the Cedar City Police Department while "demanding money and threatening warrants," should report the incident to dispatch as a possible scam, Cedar City police have announced.

The Cedar City Police Department posted on its Facebook page that it has received reports of someone calling or texting individuals in Cedar City while posing as a police officer.

"This is fraud," the post said.
